1 Day Woodland Adventure

Our 1 Day Woodland Adventure will introduce you to the amazing world of bushcraft.

Learn how to gather fire wood to build and light fires, identify edible plants, forage for woodland food, learn about water purification, identify signs of woodland birds and animals, develop basic navigation skills and learn about the safe use of knives and other woodland tools.

This 1 Day Woodland Adventure course is the perfect first step on your journey into the world of bushcraft. It has been designed to provide an introduction to the techniques and skills of bushcraft and is also excellent for those who like to learn new skills but don’t yet feel ready to spend a night out in the open.

During your time with us you will learn how to safely use bushcraft tools, how to light a fire without matches, how to construct an emergency shelter, how to identify plants for food and medicine, how to cook over a fire, and many other key skills.

The course is an excellent experience for anyone over the age of 8yrs and no previous bushcraft experience is needed, although a moderate level of fitness is required. Subjects covered during this course may vary depending on seasonal changes. However, if there is a particular subject that you would like to know more about please feel free to ask your instructor. We are here to help and educate. We also offer a range of specialised 1 day courses such as the Fungi Forage, Fire lighting, etc just call to book one of these. All meals for this course will be provided, allowing each student the opportunity to do some back country cooking. If you have any special dietary requirements please let us know on your consent form or contact the office.

We provide a kettle, tea, coffee, squash and biscuits in a brew box at the main camp fire of the course, under a large canopy. We also have fresh drinking water and a selection of fruit.

  • Introduction to the tools and equipment of Bushcraft, including the safe handling of axes, knives, and saws.
  • The survival mind, learning how to think like a survivor.
  • Fire lighting using friction and other methods.
  • Foraging and preparing foods.
  • Wilderness cooking.
  • Traps and tracking.
  • Signalling and Navigation.
